Getting started
Why does my fund need a verification report?
Your auditor has to be satisfied that your fund’s digital assets exist, what they are worth, and that they are kept apart from your personal money.
There is no bank statement for a hardware wallet, and a screenshot rarely gets an auditor there. A DACS report gives them independent, date-stamped findings they can evaluate. The decision stays with them.
Do I need to move my crypto into one wallet or exchange first?
No. Leave it where it is. We verify each holding where it sits.
How does the verification process work?
1. Order — choose your tier online, or get a Tier 3 price from Metis.
2. Onboard — set up your account in the DACS portal and complete identity checks for the trustees.
3. Share read-only access — the public address of each self-custody wallet, and a read-only API key for each exchange account, uploaded in the portal.
4. Prove control — for self-custody wallets, you sign a unique challenge message on your own device.
5. Verify and value — we scan the blockchain, pull exchange balances and value every holding with DAVO™.
6. Report — a person reviews it, we seal it, and issue it to you with your accountant and auditor copied.
We never ask for private keys, seed phrases, PINs or passwords.
What do you need from me?
For exchanges, a read-only API key uploaded to our portal. For wallets, the public receive address or xpub. We also run identity checks on the trustees so we can confirm who owns the holdings.
How do I order a report?
Tiers 1 and 2: choose your tier on the home page and complete the order form. We email your quote with a secure payment link (Stripe).
Tier 3: Metis gives you an indicative price; our team follows with a formal quote.
Accepting the quote and paying starts the engagement. You then onboard in the DACS portal, and we deliver the report once our checks are complete.
Do I need a call or video session?
No. We verify by pulling data through read-only access, so there's nothing to schedule. Video verification is kept for rare cases where no other method works.

Safety and access
Will you ever ask for my seed phrase, private keys or password?
Never. Anyone who asks for them is not DACS.
Can you move or touch my funds?
No. All access is read-only.
How secure is my data with DACS?
We never ask for or hold private keys, seed phrases, PINs or passwords. We work from public data — wallet addresses and signed messages — and read-only exchange access.
Exchange keys are used only for your engagement and destroyed when it is done. Every report is sealed with a unique hash, so any change to it shows.
What you receive
Is this an audit certificate?
No. We provide an independent verification report. It sets out what we checked, when, and what we found. Your auditor relies on it as evidence and forms the audit opinion.
Who receives the report?
You, the trustee, with your accountant and auditor copied.
My exchange account is in my personal name, not the fund's. Can you still verify it?
We report whose name the account is in, as the exchange data shows it. Whether that's acceptable is your auditor's call.
Does the report confirm the fund holds nothing else?
No. We report what we found. You confirm completeness as trustee.
Price and timing
How is it priced?
By the number of holding sources, the number of assets and the years covered. Get a quote.
How long does it take?
Usually three to five days. The biggest factor is how quickly you can answer our questions and supply what we need.
Can you verify prior financial years?
Yes. Each 30 June is verified separately, using account history from the exchange or the blockchain for that date.
My holdings are spread across several exchanges and wallets. Is that a problem?
No. It affects the price, not whether we can do it.

Who is DACS?
Digital Asset Compliance Solutions Pty Ltd (DACS) is a Melbourne company, established in 2018. We verify the digital assets held by SMSFs and other regulated entities, for the trustees, accountants and auditors who need that evidence. We hold no client assets and give no financial advice.
What services does DACS provide?
Our core service is an independent verification report on a fund’s digital assets: what exists, who controls it on the date we check, and what it is worth at balance date.
We also issue standalone valuation certificates, priced by DAVO™ (Digital Asset Valuation Oracle).

Is DACS independent?
Yes. We don't hold custody, trade or give advice. We verify only.
Do you provide investment or tax advice?
No. DACS does not provide investment, financial, or tax advice. We provide independent verification and reporting services only. For financial or tax matters, you should consult your accountant or licensed adviser.
Who — or what — is Metis?
Metis has been in training inside DACS for over a year. She answers questions from clients, supports our team internally, and prices engagements.
She also runs on a learning loop. When she does not know something, she asks us, and the answer goes back into what she knows. She improves every week because we teach her every week.
We built her ourselves, and we are proud of her. She will tell you when she is not sure, and anything unusual goes straight to a person on our team. A person signs every report we issue. Metis never does.
Why is she called Metis?
Metis was the Greek goddess of wisdom and wise counsel — practical intelligence rather than the abstract kind. She was the adviser the most powerful god in the pantheon would not act without.
It seemed the right name for an adviser who sits beside the work rather than in front of it.
